The Artist: John Lyons (b.1963) is the creator and artist for Art2Show, a showcase for some of his stunningly creative artworks. John is currently living in Stokesley, on the border of North Yorkshire and Teesside, working as a professional photographer (Cameraclix) though he has been a figurative artist all his life. John sketches with charcoal and paints, mainly in oil or acrylic on canvas and has taken commissions from his early 20's. He worked, exhibited & taught Life Drawing in Oxford during his 30's, where he started his study of the female form. Not knowing how to ask a woman to pose naked for him, he advertised in London's "Time Out" magazine with the phrase "Dare To Bare?" and his phone number. Many ladies of all different shapes, sizes and ages responded and thus he became a "Nude Artist". He still prefers to work with ladies who've never modeled nude before in the knowledge that the application of a bit of "daring bravado" is good for the creative process. John Lyons has worked with a whole variety of ladies ranging in age from timid 19 year old students to several 65+ year old grandmothers wanting to do something daring and brash to remind themselves that they're still alive! John and his previous studio was featured on national TV, as he taught the celebrity presenters to draw and paint from a female nude. More recently, since his move to Stokesley near Teesside in Jan 2011, he has been featured and interviewed with a former client on BBC Radio Tees discussing creativity around client nudity.

Only once...when a model for a class I was teaching failed to arrive! When it became apparent she wasn't coming I decided I could hardly feel prudish about my own body, when I've spent a lifetime looking at the nude bodies of others'...thus I just stripped off and got on with it! Being 6'6" and of slender build, I was apparently quite a challenging model for my colleagues and students.

Thank you for dropping by and I have returned the compliment having explored your work through the sites you mention. A resulting frustration has grown as not near enough to make modelling for you which, would have been a very good experience I am sure, totally impractical and a shame:)

Kind regards

LifeART ...the artist and model network
Welcome note from admin:
Welcome to LifeART, the networking site for artists and models. Modeling can often be a solitary profession with no contact or advice from other models. LifeART breaks down these barriers and offers help and advice to all. Be sure to check into the forum to view topical discussion between artists and models. Members may promote their services on the forum for free or subscribe to Gold Membership to have their profiles added to the search boxes to maximise their chances of finding work. Gold Membership is only £16 per year and also entitles members to send and receive messages on the main database.

Your account will automatically upgrade upon your funds being released from Paypal. This is usually instant although some forms of transaction take longer than others.

Members are reminded to be careful with whom they make contact and to take necessary precautions when meeting anyone for the first time. Please report any suspicious behaviour to keep this a safe and friendly environment.

Members must not harass other members. This is not a dating site. LifeART shares information with RAM and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Reported members will be removed without warning.

Photos are allowed up to a level of artistic nudity. This is NOT an adult site. Art tutors do not wish to see anatomical studies of genitals and any such images will considerably reduce your chances of finding work. Repetitive self-timer images that focus on the genitals will also be removed. Also, no erections or images that could be considered to contain semi erections. Finally, please do not include frontal nudity on your MAIN profile picture.

Thank you for your co-operation and happy browsing!
