Hello again everyone. I was wondering if someone could give me a brief outline of RAM and whether it's worth joining. I went on the website, but my eyes hurt and I can't read any more words. haha
I agree with a lot of the comments that have been made.
A few factual errors though.
RAM membership is 31.00 per year for models - I thinkk we may have had tiered membership at one stage (thus the 10,00 comment), but that was a long time ago.
Also, as you're outside of London, you don't have to audition.
You join as an Associate member, and get your password and profile put up on the website straight away.
All Associate membership mesans is that we don't have any references for you yet. As soon as we get references, you become a full member at no extra cost.
As there are not many models on RAM in your area, but definitely artists there, it should work in your favour.
The idea that RAM is London centric is erroneous and one we're trying very hard to change. If you look at our Joblink page, you'll see that a lot of them are outside London

Some of the models I work with don't feel that they got value for money from RAM while others are quite enthusiastic. I have worked with 5 models who are RAM members and they all replied to an advert that I put on the website; that means 5 ladies have earned back their RAM fee by getting work from me. So one plus of RAM is that you get a chance to see who is looking for models and where.
I think the London thing can work both ways. Yes, there are lots of jobs in London but there are also lots of models chasing those jobs. Maybe you will be one of the few RAM members in Devon/Cornwall/Dorset and could get lots of work as a result.
The audition is not much of a problem because they are finding it difficult to audition everyone and so offer provisional membership. In the case of one model, she worked for me first of all, never did an audition and became a full member on my recommendation.
There are full discussions about RAM on the forum. Essentially you go for an audition and upon passing you pay a subscription to remain a current member. Not all associations are aware of RAM so it may not make much difference to your CV outside of London. That said, I do know members of RAM who have definately received work through it so it could be worth a shot.

Photos are allowed up to a level of artistic nudity. This is NOT an adult site. Art tutors do not wish to see anatomical studies of genitals and any such images will considerably reduce your chances of finding work. Repetitive self-timer images that focus on the genitals will also be removed. Also, no erections or images that could be considered to contain semi erections. Finally, please do not include frontal nudity on your MAIN profile picture.
